To many, our brother Bill needs no introduction. Through his God given gift of teaching and by his godly example as a devoted disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ for the past 7+ decades, Bill’s impact in the life of others has been palpable.
During the Thanksgiving weekend (11/24-25) Bill fell and suffered a compression fracture in his back. As he was recuperating from the fall he developed a hernia due to an obstruction in his lower abdomen. He had to undergo emergency surgery on December 9 to remove the obstruction and hernia. Bill remained in the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital for a week.
Bill suffered from internal bleeding after the surgery and the doctors and medical staff treated him with blood clotting agents and transfusions. The following week was a roller coaster ride of physical and emotional uncertainty. Bill was ready to meet the Lord and was at peace during the recuperation.
He developed a 4 liter blood clot around the intestines at the original surgery site and was sent back into surgery to remove this clot and open up his intestinal tract again. The surgery was successful, but Bill then suffered from accute renal failure. The Lord used these events to take Bill home to be with Himself. Bill passed into the presence of His Lord on the evening of December 25, 2007.
